Computers Lack a certain common sense

Teaching a procedural building tool the design rules people call common sense, including where drainpipes should sit around doors.

There really is no such thing as common sense. It’s simply people not wanting to describe complex problems & solutions if they feel intuitive.

Generated building with its drainpipe positioned clear of the door

It’s easy to say “don’t put a drainpipe in the middle of a door”. It takes a little longer to allow for all of the door/drainpipe combinations.

Anyway, it’s fixed now.
